Blowhard Reactor Exercise

The Blowhard exercise is a hands-on ergonomics experience that teaches by doing. The exercise makes the employees active investigators rather than lecture spectators. A complete 30-60 minute training session.  Compare the value to a packaged videotape course–you get more for your money.  Research shows people retain more information if they are actively involved in the training rather than just passive receivers.

Instruction sheets are provided to the two work teams, and they are to work as quickly as possible, because just like with real maintenance “time is money.”  The teams will learn the value of good ergonomic design, and they will see just how it saves time and money–safely.
